37 Weeks Pregnant

May 6, 2004 - By Jen

We’re almost there! This baby could come any day, or she could still arrive in several weeks. It’s funny not knowing the day, but Aaron and I take comfort in knowing that God’s timing is perfect.

I had my third baby shower last weekend, and it was so much fun! Close to 40 women from the church were there, as well as our moms, Aaron’s sister and Aaron’s grandma. We received so many nice gifts, and I had a blast organizing them in the baby’s room.

Today I explained my theory of clumsiness during pregnancy to Aaron. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out why being pregnant causes one to drop just about anything she touches. But today as I dropped some food on myself, I realized that God allows me to be super clumsy to prepare me for parenting. After all, children will certainly drop and spill food often. How can you be mad at them for it after spending 9 months doing it yourself? Glad we got that mystery solved …

I’m still feeling really well, though I do get a little tired and cranky around bedtime. Thankfully Aaron is incredibly patient and understanding, and by morning my usual energy has returned. I’m glad to be sleeping so well!

Tonight I’ll go to my ballet class again. Yes, I am still dancing. It surprises just about everyone, but it’s really not all that hard. My jumps are a little smaller, and I don’t bend forward and backward as well, but otherwise it really feels great. At this point I plan to continue dancing right up to my due date!
