Though I miss the sunshine, I admit I really like the rain. At least today anyway. We’ve been so busy lately with doctor’s appointments (check ups, mostly), outings to the park, play groups, etc. Yesterday, for example, we left the house around 10 a.m. for Kayla’s 2-year check up. After the appointment we had lunch with Aaron at the College, and then got home around 2 p.m. Then in the evening we were at church for a couple hours. While all these things are fun and wonderful, it’s hard to maintain a home when you’re gone for six hours in one day (I’m sure those of you who work understand). So today it’s raining … that means no walks, no trips to the park and no sidewalk chalk. Today is a day just to recouperate at home–and we definitely needed it.
Kayla wanted to eat her breakfast out of a basket this morning. We read the story of the little boy sharing his lunch with Jesus last night, so Kayla asked if she could eat her lunch out of a basket, too. I said yes, and then I said she could even eat her breakfast out of a basket if she wanted. Madeline has been sleeping great today, which has been so helpful. She also is getting really close to sleeping through the night. The past four nights she has eaten very little at her middle-of-the-night feeding, so hopefully it won’t be too much longer before she’s sleeping straight through. That will be so nice!
I have two girls in their cribs right now (only one is sleeping though), so maybe I’ll do some Pilates or something. 🙂
I sure can relate. I sure to could enjoy a day at home without the demands of the job and outside errands. 🙂
Love,
Mom
Sounds nice Jen. You definitely need some quiet days like these to take it easy–especially with two little girls to care for! You’re doing a great job! Love you,
Leslie
