Aaron Feels the Baby

January 3, 2004 - By Aaron Kerr

We’re now 19 weeks into the pregnancy, and I (Aaron) was able to feel the baby for the first time. There are usually a couple times during the day when Jen starts to feel really strong kicks from the baby…

Jen was pretty sure that I would be able to feel one of these, but we just hadn’t gotten the timing right so far. Whenever I would put my hand on Jen’s stomach, the baby would stop moving.

But last night when we were at Jen’s mom’s house, I was able to feel the baby move. It still wasn’t a huge movement, but I could definitely feel it. Very cool! We’re getting more excited each day about having the baby. Our ultrasound is next Wednesday. We’re so anxious to get to see the baby (or babies) again. Changes are pretty slim that it is twins, but I like to tease Jen about it.

On New Year’s Day, we moved everything out of our extra bedroom downstairs and painted the room. Next, we’re going to move the office stuff into that room from the bedroom upstairs. Then the upstairs room will become the nursery. We’re hoping to paint the walls, put up a wallpaper border, and put in new carpet. This should be a really fun project.

Watch for another story next week to tell if the baby is a boy or girl!
