Colorado

This month has been full of fun things, but probably the most exciting was our trip to Colarado. We just returned last night, and we had a wonderful time. Kayla was a champ and received the “Super Flying Baby Award.” Read on for more …

I definitely recommend airline travel for babies–much easier than car trips! Kayla didn’t cry once on any of the four flights we took. She smiled at the flight attendents and brightened the trip for many of the passengers–including us. We were gone a total of 8 days for the trip, spending time in both Denver and Rocky Mountain National Park. Aaron (and his coworker, Larry) had a conference for work while in Denver, but we still had a lot of fun times. The weather was just about perfect, so that helped, too. We bought Kayla a super cute ladybug costume for Halloween, and she had her first experience “swimming” in the hotel pool.

We stayed in a gorgeous vacation home outside of Estes Park, Colorado–just minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. We probably couldn’t have afforded it during the peak season, but prices are lower in late October since few people travel to the Rockies then. Our journey into the park was fun until Kayla got sleepy and tired of her pink marshmallow coat, but we’re thankful we had the opportunity to see some pretty neat parts of creation. Kayla won’t remember it, but we’ll show her pictures someday.

And just a quick update on Kayla’s new achievements: she can roll both ways now. She started rolling from her back to her tummy on October 14th, and she’s turned into quite the giggler now. Her laugh is so cute! She waved “bye bye” on her 5 month birthday, and she’s been having fun grabbing her feet and blowing lots of bubbles.
