Dats, Fuzzies & Meijer

April 18, 2007 - By Jen

What do dats, fuzzies and Meijer have in common? Not much, really. I just needed a subject for my post.

A dat is actually a cat, but Madeline pronounces it “dat!!!” I put the three exclamation points to try to indicate her intonation when she says it. She has been really into the cats lately and follows them around the house saying “dat!!!” It’s cute.

Kayla, on the other hand, loves fuzzies–you know, the fuzzies left between your toes from your socks. Kind of strange, but she gets really excited about them. This morning she said, “me hope these (socks) leave fuzzies between my toes.”

Madeline turns one year old tomorrow, and guess what I did for the first time today? I took the girls to Meijer by myself to buy groceries! I was pretty intimidated to try it when Madeline was a newborn and Kayla was in the middle of potty training. I got in the habit of going at 6 in the morning and really liked it. However, going to Meijer does mess with my morning routine once a week. This week I decided to try taking the girls, especially because we now have a good open window in our schedule (1:00 to 2:30). They were angels! On the way out we stopped to ride Sandy, but Madeline was a little afraid. Maybe next time. 🙂

Loved the story. Sure made me smile and laugh about both of the girls. 🙂 I’m sure you noticed that Meijer is a little more crowded in the afternoon than it is at 6 a.m.

Thanks for the cute updates on the beautiful grand daughters.
