When Tim Horton’s came to Mt. Pleasant, Aaron was one of the first customers. When Starbucks came, Aaron was there again.
We’ve known for a couple months that Mt. Pleasant is getting a Beaner’s Coffee. Aaron told me this week that they were making a lot of progress, so we’ve been watching for the big day. Today we drove by after church to discover the lights on and a person sitting in the window! Oh no! Aaron didn’t get to be one of the first customers!
Well, actually, maybe he did.
We walked up to the door and noticed a man using a shop vac. Aaron said, “I guess if he’s using a shop vac right now they must not be open yet.” We turned around, but soon a man was calling us to come in. Beaner’s opens a week from Tuesday, but they made us free drinks anyway and gave us tons of coupons. Perhaps they’ve done that for someone else already, or perhaps we were the first customers. I guess we’ll never know, but it sure was good! 🙂
Baby #3 is still happily waiting in the womb. She has no idea what’s coming, but soon she’ll leave her cozy little home and enter our little world. I’m 37 weeks pregnant, so we have three weeks left—maybe. The girls are very excited to meet their sister. I think Madeline is beginning to understand the concept; for the longest time she thought she had a baby in her tummy, too.
We spent the last week of January in Chicago. Aaron had job training, and we joined him! It was fun to get out of the house and take “school” on the road. The girls both had colds (and then we caught them when we came back), but hopefully that’s God’s way of getting it out of our systems before the baby comes.
Stay tuned for more details … 🙂

Just to keep the record straight, my friend Josh and I were officially the first in-store customers at our Tim Horton’s when it opened. There had been a couple of drive-thru customers, but we were the first to actually enter the store.
That one was tricky because they are open 24 hours, so they just opened at some random time on their first morning. I was at our Starbucks when they opened the door for the first time 🙂

It appears that Jen has helped create a “coffee adict”. I do believe that she introduced Aaron to Starbucks. 🙂
