Kayla and I read a library book before her nap today. It was really cute. It was about a groundhog who ate from Mr. and Mrs. O’Leary’s garden all summer long and then hibernated through the winter. I started thinking, “wouldn’t it be cool if I could do that with pregnancy? I could eat like crazy before becoming pregnant, and then I could hibernate through the first few months of pregnancy sickness!” I thought it was a brilliant solution! It sounds much easier than having to force myself to eat. In all actuality, I am feeling a bit better these days, which puts a big smile on my face.
A couple days ago a brave woman at Meijer asked me if we’re hoping for a boy this time. I didn’t mind, but I thought she had a lot of courage! I think she would have been surprised to know I’m only 11 1/2 weeks along. That was the first time a stranger asked me about the baby. The first time it happened in my pregnancy with Madeline I was about 13 weeks. I just can’t hide it even if I try! This time around I had two people ask me if I was pregnant before I even knew. And they weren’t the only ones thinking it. When I told my friends, they admitted that they, too, had already noticed my growing abdomen.
