Jen’s First Entry

April 9, 2004 - By Aaron Kerr

I admit feeling a little intimated typing this entry with Aaron being such a talented writer, but I know I need to just give it a try–who knows, maybe I’ll really like it!

I’ll try, in just a few short paragraphs, to give you a glimpse of what life is like for an 8-months-pregnant, stay-at-home-mother-to-be. Though sometimes the events of my day may not seem all that interesting, I wouldn’t trade the peace and balance in my life for anything.

Life is … wonderful. I look around me and see friends trying to juggle chaotic schedules with many responsibilities. Sometimes I wonder if I should be doing more, but deep down I know this is right where God wants me to be. My responsibilities right now include caring for my unborn child, helping my wonderful husband, and serving God in my local church. Nothing too specific, and nothing too stressful either! Life is rewarding, and I feel like I’ve really blossomed and come alive since I finished working last summer.

Honestly I have been spending a lot of time getting ready for the baby. I had two wonderful baby showers recently, and I just finished all the thank you notes. So that gives me about a three week break until my next shower, and then the note writing will continue! As Aaron mentioned, we set up the crib and the rocker in the baby’s room this week. I’ve been organizing her cute clothes and toys and making sure everything is just right for her arrival. I’ve always been an organized person, so I don’t think this is Nesting Syndrome yet, but I do wonder what it will be like when it hits.

Our church has a busy weekend with our Easter productions . Aaron is singing in the choir, so he’s quite a bit busier than me. Today I went to the Good Friday service with my grandparents and Aaron’s parents, and then we all went out to eat. It was definitely a powerful and moving presentation, and it made me so thankful for all God has done in our church. We are blessed to be in a church of people who love God and each other so much.

Tomorrow Yogi and Boo Boo turn two, so we’ll have to find some way to celebrate the little stinkers. They sure are good cats–definitely more unique than any cats I’ve ever met. They’re my little buddies though, and I’m very thankful for their companionship. Well, I said I’d try to sum up my life in a few paragraphs. I guess I wrote four, but hopefully you don’t mind. 🙂
