A letter from Kayla Kerr
Each year Moody Bible Institute selects a team of students who give up their Spring Break to serve among the 13+ million people of Manila. I am blessed to be a part of this year’s trip.
Though we are only there for a short-term trip, MBI has had a long-term impact in the Philippines. Nathan Strand, our team leader, said, “The people of the Philippines are the reason we keep coming back…this will be the 18th year!” What an honor to be able to travel to the Philippines and serve alongside Godly and gifted believers and join them in the work God is doing there.
Eternal Investments
Two weeks seem so short, but we trust God will use our time for His glory. While we are in Manila we partner with local churches and also with Samaritana Transformation Ministries. We assist with VBS for over 100 children, teach home Bible studies, or plan and conduct a retreat.
One former student wrote this following his trip: “Whether I was leading songs, playing games, teaching the Bible, or baptizing new believers, I was able to say with confidence: Not I, but Christ who lives in me. I formed relationships with the people in the Philippines that are going to stretch into eternity …”
How can you get involved?
Each member of the team is seeking out people who are willing to be prayer and/or financial partners for our trip.
The cost is $2,700 per person. This covers all expenses, and with these funds we also sponsor all the programs we are involved in (VBS, camp, retreats).
Any donation you may want to give is tax-deductible, and there are multiple ways in which donations can be submitted.

Our Next Steps
Our team plans to leave on March 9 and return March 24. We will have numerous trainings throughout January and February to help us prepare for this amazing opportunity.
I am very grateful to be a part of an amazing team of people and am so excited to see how God uses this trip in our lives and the lives of those who we will serve.
