Hello friends and family. After plenty of delays and a lot of hard work, we finally have our new website up and running. You’ll definitely notice a new visual design to the site; hopefully that is a welcome change. We did manage to bring over all of our existing posts from the old site. However, everything else on the back end of the site is completely new. We are now using a system called WordPress to manage all the posts and content for our site.
Unlike our previous setup, everything is web-based now. Jen or I can log in from any web browser at any time and post content. This should definitely improve our ability to get new stories up about our family sooner. In the past, we could only post stories using a program that I had on my laptop, meaning Jen had to send me a story to be posted and then wait around for me to actually get it done.
We’ve got a new photo gallery system in place as well–another big improvement over what we were using before for galleries. I’m tweaking a couple things in that program, but watch for another post in the next week with a link to the galleries. And you may have also noticed that the site now has “comment” functionality. Comments can be left on any post, so feel free to use this feature if you like.
