We’ve been busy lately! Sorry it’s been a little while since my last post, but this one has pictures, so hopefully it was worth the wait.
This past weekend we had an International student from South Korea stay with us. Her name is Jinny. We attended Conversation Club at Barnes Hall (CMU) on Friday night (arranged by our church), and the theme of the evening was Valentine’s Day. We decorated Valentines and sugar cookies and also played human bingo and looked at some Scripture verses on love. We then took Jinny home to watch Olympics, drink hot chocolate and play with the cats. Jinny was quite fond of Yogi & Boo Boo and says she’d like to get a cat when she returns to Korea! Kayla and Jinny really liked each other, too. They spent a lot of time drawing together on the Doodle Pro and dressing Kayla’s baby dolls.
On Saturday we went grocery shopping and then went to Max & Emily’s for lunch (a cafe-style restaurant downtown). In the evening we made lasagna, and then a couple other families came over for an International Dinner. We had a great time!
On Sunday we went to church together and then had Chinese stir-fry before taking Jinny back to her dorm. She gave us a little gift and the sweetest thank you card. Kayla loves the card and asks me to read it over and over again.
Here are some pictures we took:
Ok, never mind. I couldn’t follow Aaron’s instructions to post a picture, and he’s in a meeting right now. Maybe we’ll post some later. 🙂
Besides the busy weekend, Kayla and I went to the library for storytime yesterday. After storytime we picked out some new books and played with puzzles. Kayla’s favorite book is “Grandpa and me,” which is about making a pizza with Grandpa.
Today Kayla went to Ms. Tracy’s house while I worked on attendance and registration stuff at the church. Kayla goes there every other Tuesday and has a blast. She didn’t want to come home today and kept saying “Tracy again, Mama bye bye.” I’m glad she has so much fun there.
My friend Kylee called a little while ago to say that they’re taking their son, Graeme, to the hospital in Ann Arbor. Graeme has had heart problems since he was born (with a couple surgeries already), and something is going on right now but they’re not sure of all the details. His white blood cell count is really high, so he’s fighting some sort of infection, possibly in his heart. Kylee isn’t sure how long they’ll be in Ann Arbor–it could be a while, depending on what they find out. We’ll be praying for them! (Kayla is great at praying with me throughout the day for friends and family.)

Thanks for the new posting. It’s a nice way to keep informed. I’m sorry that Graeme is ill. I too will pray for him.
Love,
Mom
