Madeline’s First Sign

December 7, 2006 - By Jen

Like I did with Kayla, I’ve been teaching Madeline sign language. She produced her first sign yesterday.  It was actually the first sign Kayla produced, too: All done/Finished. She signed that after she finished her lunch. Then today I came into the living room where she was playing and she was signing “all done.” She may not completely have the meaning down, but she knows how to communicate something at least. Very cool. 🙂

Isn’t it wonderful that someone thought to use signing with babies? What a great way to communite with adults. 🙂

I think that’s so amazing Jenni. What a great way to see how much she is learning and how she enjoys being able to communicate with you. I remember thinking how cool it was when you were doing this with Kayla. I even suggested it to the parenting program for new moms at my agency!
