“Special”

December 19, 2006 - By Jen

Lately I’ve been thinking that Kayla needs a little more structure to her playtime. Since I’m her primary playmate, we spend much of the day with her following me around as I do chores. I thought it would be helpful for us to have some times when we play together and some times when Kayla plays by herself. So yesterday after breakfast I told Kayla we were going to set the timer in her room for 5 minutes. That would be her “special” room time. Apparently she liked it, because today after breakfast she started singing a song about how she was going to have her special room time. A mother’s attitude and approach to things can make such a difference, hence my choice of the word “special.”
Kayla says the funniest things. Just a few minutes ago she went potty and said, “Kayla wants to wash her hands with hand sa-si-ti-zer (sanitizer) because we are running very late to church.” I wonder where she hears these things? 🙂
