Super Wife and Mommy Award

October 4, 2004 - By Aaron Kerr

I just had to take the opportunity tonight to thank my wife, Jen, for being so incredibly wonderful, fun, and hardworking. She blesses Kayla and I every single day with who she is and all she does. Read on for details.

First of all, Jen is fantastic with our little one. Before Kayla was born, Jen sometimes worried that she wouldn’t be a very good mother. She didn’t have a lot of experience spending time with babies and worried that she wouldn’t know what to do with Kayla. The opposite has turned out to be true. Jen does all kinds of things with Kayla: reads her books, takes her for walks, plays games with her, sings to her, giver her baths, nurses her, goes shopping with her, and more. Jen takes great care of Kayla, and you can see from the way Kayla lights up when Jen talks to her that she loves her mommy.

Jen also takes fantastic care of our home. She does lots of cleaning, organizes everything (because I’m extremely bad at getting organization done), and is the laundry champ! I just can’t keep clothes dirty in our home. It seems like as soon as I’ve worn something and tossed it in the hamper, it shows up the very next day — clean and folded in my drawer. This makes it so much easier to get ready for work in the morning, always having plenty of things clean to wear.

And Jen is tons of fun. We have great times with Kayla, of course, but I also totally look forward to those hours at the end of the day when Kayla is in bed and we can hang out together. We love playing cards together, watching a movie, or just working on things around the house together.

All in all, Jen, I’m just amazed by all the things that you do. And I wanted to take the special opportunity to brag about you and tell you how much I love you! Thanks for being who you are — our super mommy and wife. 🙂
