It’s Thursday, which usually means our little friend Abigail comes over. Today she stayed home with her mom, since her mom is due to have a baby any day now. This house seemed a little lonely without Abigail. Acutally, though, I probably would have had to cancel today anyway. Kayla started coming down with a cold yesterday, so now the official quarantine begins. Kayla has had a cold every month since October, so we’ve gotten used to keeping her away from other kids so she doesn’t pass on her germs. Hopefully she’ll be over it within a week–her colds typically last about 7 – 10 days.
Kayla is upstairs in her crib trying to fall asleep for her nap now. She slept in quite a bit this morning, until about 8:15. That was good, since she didn’t fall asleep until close to 10 last night! We made the mistake of taking her to Home Depot after dinner. She absolutely loved it there! She ran all around the store with me while Aaron waited for some paint (for the baby’s room). She kept saying “Kayla walking, Kayla Mommy hand, Mommy walk too.” Then she would reach out for my hand and lead me around the store. It was a fun adventure, but she got totally wound up and wasn’t sleepy at all when we laid her down at 8.
I’ll teach dance tonight, and then next week I’m off for spring break. Tomorrow Aaron and I were supposed to go to a couple’s baby shower for some friends, but one of us will have to stay home with Kayla (since she’s sick). I had a babysitter lined up, but since she has kids, that won’t work out. 🙁
