After lunch today, I desperately needed to tackle the pile of dishes in the kitchen.
Savannah was asleep, and Kayla and Madeline were playing happily together. I took advantage of the opportunity and had a few quite minutes to myself to work. Every time I checked on the girls, they were doing something sweet. One time Kayla was reading “Global Babies” to Madeline and teaching her about the different babies and their cultures. Another time Kayla was giving Madeline a pretend shot and telling Madeline she would need to rest for a few days. It seems like they could have played for hours.
Lest you think everything in our life is perfect, please know I haven’t told you about the hard times. Like Sunday, our disaster of a morning at church. Let’s just say that the combination of spit up, poop, Benadryl, a fall and an ear infection made for a crazy morning at family church (a service once a month where parents and kids go to “Big Church” together). Nor have I told you about Tuesday, when I gave up on cleaning the house because I just couldn’t keep up with three kids and all their messes anymore.
As I write this post, Savannah is being lulled into contentment by the sound of our SpotBot. She’s been a little more fussy today than usual, but as long as I’m cleaning the carpet, she’s happy! Madeline also went to the doctor this morning to have her ear checked. She’s been complaining of ear pain for a week and has been pretty cranky. Sure enough, she has an ear infection.
Aaron updated my version of WordPress (what we use for this blog). I know how much everyone likes photos, so I will try to learn how to post pictures again as soon as possible.
Well, the SpotBot is done, so I should tend to Savannah. More later! 🙂
