After finishing our time at the Rim, we headed South to Phoenix and spent three days there. Phoenix is a really pretty city, and after leaving the cold temperatures of Michigan, the 93 degree weather was pretty amazing. With extremely low humidity, heat like that isn’t bad. Unfortunately, we did have to return to the cold. It was 30 degrees and snowing lightly the night we got back. Still, it was great to be home again and be able to continue the preparations for the arrival of our daughter, due May 23.
Preparations for Baby Kerr are progressing well. Jen has had two baby showers now. We’ve been extremely blessed by so many gifts which are helping us be ready for the baby. The nursery is painted now and has new carpet and trim painted white. I’ve still got a wallpaper border to put up, but that will be the last step.
This past Sunday night, we took a drive over to Saginaw and visited their recently-opened Babies R’ Us. We were able to get a glider and ottoman for Jen to use while nursing the baby, a white crib that we really love, and our stroller/baby carrier combo. I put the crib together last night and we’ve started decorating, using the adorable nursery theme we picked out. The room is a lot of fun. Being in there makes me so anxious to have a little baby girl. I’ve taken a couple pics of the nursery as it stands now and will try to get them posted tomorrow.
We’ll post more news soon…really, we will. I’m experimenting with a new web photo gallery software that I think will allow me to quickly generate some photo galleries for our site. Also, I’m putting together a little “Baby Watch” subscription thingy that will allow you to register your e-mail address with us in order to receive occasional updates and a birth announcement for our little girl. Watch for these in the near future.
