Savannah and her daddy …
First Tooth
Savannah in Motion
She Did It!
Savannah, now 9 weeks old, slept through the night for the first time! My alarm went off at 6:30 this morning, and I immediately realized that Savannah hadn’t woken me in the night for a feeding! The alarm, unfortunately, also woke Savannah. She slept seven hours, but it’s possible she would have slept even more.
Here’s a picture of the pretty girl, taken a few days ago.
One thing we didn’t realize before Savannah was born was how much we would sing “Oh Savannah” to her. We adapted the words to “Oh Susannah” to fit our little Savannah. It’s really cute when Kayla and Madeline go around the house singing “Oh Savannah, oh don’t you cry for me, for I come from Alabama with my banjo on my knee.”
We took Savannah back to the place of her birth on Tuesday to visit our friends Andy and Patty who just had their second baby (a boy this time!). It was fun being back in the same place we had been just nine weeks earlier.
How Tall We Are
A friend recently recommended a book to me. As soon as I heard about it, I knew it was something the girls would love. It’s called “Games with Books” by Peggy Kaye. Tonight we tried our first game, and as I suspected, the girls were pretty excited. The game coordinated with the book “The Carrot Seed” and involved measuring how tall you are using carrots! So, in case you are curious, here’s how tall we are:
Aaron: 9 1/4 carrots
Jen: 8 carrots
Kayla: 4 3/4 carrots
Madeline: 4 carrots
Savannah: 2 3/4 carrots
Yogi: 3 1/2 carrots (but as Aaron said, it depends on how you stretch her)
Stay tuned for the next post, “How Much We Weigh.” Just kidding. 🙂
