Change is in the Air

March 26, 2007 - By Jen

The weather today couldn’t be more perfect in my opinion.  I think spring is becoming my favorite season (formerly autumn, then summer, now I think it’s spring).  Seeing signs of new life, feeling the gentle breeze, no mosquitoes to torture us … it’s wonderful.

Madeline is growing up so much.  11-months-old now, she acts more like a toddler than a baby.  We all went for a ride with the bike trailer last night, and JoyJoy (as I’ve been calling her lately) loved it.

Kayla had her first night in her big girl bed last night!  She did great!  It’s a little sad packing away some of her Snuggle Bugs nursery stuff, but it’s just a sign that life is changing (for the good).  The bed we purchased is the Kura Bed from Ikea, which can also work as as bunk bed if you turn it over.  It has a star canopy on the top that Kayla loves.  Currently she is using my tropical fish comforter set that I used growing up.  We may get her something different eventually, but for right now it’s really cute.

Aaron and I are both doing well.  The warm weather is such a relief to us, so we’ve been taking the girls for walks, bike rides or to the park almost every day.  Saturday night we had a change to hang out with the Hook Family, and tonight we will hang out with our friends David & Tara (after the girls are in bed).

Kayla, I’m proud of you for sleeping in your big-girl bed! Jen, thanks for the update. After I talked to you this afternoon I almost called back to see if Kayla had started sleeping in her new bed yet. Now I know the answer!
