I discovered today that my kids are more likely to eat their lunch if you change things up a bit—like serving sandwiches and apple slices in a cup!
Madeline was sitting in her chair holding an empty cup while I was preparing lunch. She wanted a piece of cheese, so I broke it into little pieces and put them right in her cup. Kayla then wanted cheese in a cup, too. I realized that for some reason eating out of a cup was really fun for the girls, so I proceeded to serve the rest of their lunch that way. Sometimes you just have to do silly things to get your kids to eat! (Try sitting on the kitchen floor with a plate of healthy food, and they’ll suddenly be interested—especially if it’s not meal time!)
