September Update

September 13, 2004 - By Jen

Kayla is now 3 and a half months old, and she sure is getting big! She’ll have her 4-month check up September 22, so we’ll find out then how much she weighs and how long she is. The last time we checked her weight (a little over 3 weeks ago), she was 14 lbs, 6 oz, so we’re guessing she could be close to 16 lbs by now!

Aaron, Kayla and I went for a nice walk last night after the brief rain. The sky was so beautiful as the sun set. We certainly enjoy going for walks together, and we want to do it as much as we can before the weather gets colder. Kayla was so happy while we were walking; in fact, she’s almost always happy. We’ve both been commenting lately that we have one of the happiest babies in the world. She truly is a wonderful, amazing gift from God. We are so blessed to be her parents.Yesterday was also Kayla’s baby dedication at church. We had our last service at Warriner Hall, and then afterward we had a baby dedication and baptism celebration outside. Kayla wasn’t baptized, because that’s something we believe should happen after a person chooses to follow Christ, but Aaron and I agreed to live our lives as a testimony to her, train and teach her about God, discipline her in love, serve in our local church as an example, and pray for her continually.

Other than that, Aaron has been busy at work with the launch of Alma College’s new website . He’s also doing a web design project on the side for another company, and he’s been writing some great dramas for Kidz Church. I’ve been enjoying my time nursing Kayla, as it gives me a great chance to relax and read during the day. I just finished “Waking the Dead” by John Eldredge for the second time–another great book! I’ve been making some food for various needs at church, and I’m still hoping to officially plug into a ministry team soon. Guess that’s all for now, but please check in again soon!
