Snuggly Days

September 19, 2006 - By Jen

Kayla and Madeline both have colds right now, an excellent excuse to lay low and stay in our jammies till almost lunchtime.

The past two mornings, after we’ve finished breakfast and Madeline has gone down for her morning nap, Kayla and I have been snuggling under Mommy & Daddy’s blanket tent (our comforter). I’ve been ignoring housework and just enjoying time with my little girls. I still do the essentials, but I’m realizing how quickly the days pass, and I want to make sure we’re really taking time to enjoy each other. Kayla took a nap today, too–her first one in weeks, I think. I actually had one hour when both girls were sleeping! Amazing!

Madeline turned 5-months-old today. She sure is a sweet, smiley girl! She has the most contagious laugh, and tonight Big Sister Kayla was the one making her giggle. It was so adorable to see them lying together on their tummies. As Kayla put her arm around Madeline, Madeline would laugh so hard!  I captured the moment on video without Kayla realizing it.  🙂
Here’s a picture of Madeline today. Kayla picked out the hat. It was Madeline’s first day in jeans.

I took a picture of Kayla today, too, but her nose was so red and runy that I don’t really want to post it. So here’s one of Kayla and Aaron from the Mardi Gras parade downtown last Friday night.

Time to hit the sack!
